Great room of the Boathouse, an oceanfront cottage rental in Phippsburg, Maine

Guest notes

Weeks that stay with people.

Still Meadow & Ice House · July 19–26

One of our most magical trips to Maine.

No small feat with three young kids. Everything we needed was here, and then some — a thank-you to Callie for the bread, the welcome note, and the flowers. We explored off the dock, played croquet, walked the trails, grilled family dinners, rinsed off beach days at the outdoor shower, and spent hours on the screened porch making friendship bracelets and puzzling. We're excited to come back next year.

The Boathouse · July 26–August 2, 2025

All the comforts of home in a quintessential Maine getaway.

Five stars. Full kitchen with a separate bar. Four doors open onto the screened porch, so fresh air moves through the living and dining area. Great Wi-Fi. A short walk to Sunset Point on a marked trail. This place is amazing.

The Boathouse · June 14–21, 2025

Very quiet and secluded at the edge of the cove.

We launched paddle boards right from the back deck. The stream and hiking trails around the house bring extra beauty and a chance at those Maine sunsets. From here we dined locally, played a round of golf down the road, and visited Popham Beach. Bob the owner and Callie the property manager were wonderful communicators. They even left a loaf of fresh bread and flowers with a personal note.

All three cottages · September 20–30, 2024

The accommodations were perfect for a family wedding week.

Five couples: two in Still Meadow, one in the Ice House, two in the Boathouse. Hiking trails to the mountain and Sunset Point, the private dock for kayaks and boards, a picnic area for a lobster bake. Each home is decorated with thoughtful details. We used the bikes and private laundry. Great location next to a resort with golf, tennis, and swimming.

Still Meadow · August 17–24, 2024

One of the best places we have stayed in Maine.

A family of six, four kids ages 16 through 10, and the cottage held us wonderfully. Peaceful and well stocked. We used the walking trails every morning and evening, the bikes every day, and kept kayaks at the private dock for three days. Host Bob was a pleasure to liaise with. We will be back.

Still Meadow · July 27–August 3, 2024

Charming and impeccably maintained.

The property manager and owners could not have been more welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking the private trails and spending time at the float and in the cove. We hope to return.

Still Meadow & Ice House · June 29–July 6, 2024

We were so impressed with the welcome we received.

Two cabins for a family vacation. The goodies on arrival, immediate responses from Bob, and the surrounding yard and flowers were an added bonus. The cabins sit down a private dead-end road — very peaceful. The binder in the cottages is full of local information. We highly recommend these quaint cabins.

Still Meadow · July 22–25, 2023

The images don't do it justice.

Rustic log-house style with modern touches, an amazing kitchen, a propane fireplace, and a screened porch for meals and birdsong. Three nice bikes, comfortable beds. The float is about 300 feet away with a table and hammock. The private hiking trail to the viewpoint takes about twenty minutes — mossy trails, then the entire coastline toward Portland.
