Boathouse, Still Meadow and Ice House guests, Sept, 20-30, 2024
Our family stayed for a wedding celebration in Maine in late September. We had 5 couples: 2 couples stayed in Still Meadow, 1 couple in the Ice House, and 2 couples in the Boathouse. The accommodations were perfect. The hiking trails were beautiful to the mountain and to sunset point to watch the beautiful Maine sunsets. We used the private dock for kayaking and paddle boards and the picnic area for a lobster bake. Each home is decorated tastefully and filled with thoughtful details. We also enjoyed the bikes and private laundry. You will want for nothing at this lovely piece of paradise. Great location situated on a resort property with access to golf, tennis, swimming, and family fun. HIGHLY recommended! You will have a blast!

Perfect stay for our family
We couldn’t be happier with our stay here. We are a family of 6, with 4 kids ages 16 through 10 and the cottage held us wonderfully well. It was the perfect size for our summer stay, very clean and well stocked. It had a peaceful, quiet feel and was a great place to hang out together on the days we didn’t feel like leaving the house. We used the walking trails outside the back door every morning and evening, amazing for getting the day started or for winding down. So much to do from this location! Morse Mountain trail to the beach is definitely worth it if 1.8 miles is in your range. We used the bikes provided every day as well as our own. The private Phippsburg residents’ beach is just down the road and Popham Beach State Park is really close too which the kids loved. We went to Portland one day and up by Camden and Rockland another; the drives are part of the fun, stopping off along the way. The cottage is a half mile down a private driveway that passes through a golf course owned by the Sebasco Harbor Resort. We went down there and were able to use the outdoor pool and the bowling alley despite not being guests. We also rented kayaks from a local company provided in the welcome handbook and kept them for 3 days at the private dock beside the cottage. Long story short this place was one of the best places we have stayed in Maine and we come up here most years. The host Bob was a pleasure to liaise with, being around if needed anytime. Highly recommended for families like ours. We will be back!

Wonderful week at this charming, impeccably maintained cottage. The property manager and owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed hiking on the private trails and spending time at the float/in the cove. We found everything we needed and hope to return again sometime!

We stayed for a week in 2 of the cabins for a family vacation. We were so impressed with the welcome we received, the goodies provided on arrival and the immediate responses from Bob when we needed anything. We found the cabins exactly as described but the surrounding yard and flowers were an added bonus. We enjoyed learning the history of the properties, lovingly restored by Bob and Rebecca, and taking short walks on the trails. The cabins are located down a private dead-end road which is very peaceful. We were able to take walks round the golf community and had breakfast several times at the Pilot House on Sebasco Resort. We ordered groceries in advance from Shaw’s grocery store in Bath and picked them up en route from Portland. There is a small grocery store in Phippsburg too. The binder in the cabins provides lots of local information that was really helpful and we went to the beach at Popham State Park, spent a day in the historic town of Bath and bought lobsters locally at North Cove Lobster which we cooked on 4th July. We highly recommend these quaint cabins!

“Beautiful house, the images don't do it justice. Lots of attention to detail - combines the rustic log house style with modern touches in a very tasteful way. Amazing kitchen with high quality appliances and equipment. We also loved the propane fireplace - looks and feels like the real deal without the smoke and work. The screened porch is great for meals, listening to the birds and for remote work. The house also comes with three nice bikes, beds are comfortable. The setting is private, 400 feet away from next house. The float on the bay is about 300 feet away and has a nice table and hammock with a bay view. The part we liked the best was the private hiking trail that led up to the viewpoint. It takes about 20 minutes to get there. Walking over mossy trails while the birds are chirping was great, once up there the view is stunning - entire coast line towards Portland and beyond.”

“Fantastic cabin! Took my wife and our toddler. Was so fun, quiet, peaceful and beautiful cabin. There were great trails right on the property as well as an amazing swimming area right by the cabin. Bob and his wife were fantastic hosts, gave us great local recommendations and were extremely responsive. We will definitely be back!”
Mr. Brown’s Boathouse guests, Aug. 5 – Sept. 2, 2024
“From the moment we walked into Mr. Brown's Boathouse, we were utterly amazed at what awaited us. We had hoped for a quiet retreat and a place to recharge our batteries and our wildest dreams came true. We don't have enough superlatives to describe our experience. The Boathouse itself is charm personified -- rustic but with ALL the modern conveniences. The attention to detail was impeccable. From the fully stocked kitchen to the thoughtful furnishings, we could not have been happier. The owners were extremely responsive to our every question, and they went the extra mile in making recommendations to us for dining, shopping, sightseeing, etc. The view was beautiful no matter if the tide was coming in or going out. With big double doors opening out onto a very large screened in porch, we always felt like we were actually in nature. This was by far one of our favorite places we have ever stayed and we can't wait to go back.”
